Eastern Harvestman

The gamble is the diagonal. Body, legs and the petal ridge all run lower-left to upper-right, and the flower’s dark disc gives that motion something to run into. Focus is spent exactly right — on the chelicerae and the pedipalp knuckles, not the bulk of the abdomen — so the eye lands where the animal is actually doing something. Yellow-to-green separation in the background is clean. Weakness: the upper-right leg segment goes soft and slightly plasticky against the black, and the dorsal highlight is a touch blown. The pollen grains earn their keep.
